India ::: Shining or Bursting at its seams...

We, indians are a happy lot, arent we.
we imbibe the age-old practice of "being an optimist to the hilt" so good, we've almost turned blind.

The country's the rising elephant.. takin over the dragon.. China.. we take pride
: in the number of malls open near our homes,
: in the rising and changing spending patterns of our people
: in the accolades showered on NRIs
: in the americans practising Yoga and tasting our curries.
: in the unabashed display of wealth n what not

we're poised to become an economic superpower within the next 15-20 years. but is that possible, n even, enough??
more than 200 million of our population doesnt even get a one-meal a day. and we want our food cooked just the rigth way, or we wont have it.

there's no electricity in half the country, and we want three ACs in our homes.

here, ppl walk 20 km for a day's water needs. n we wont mind washing our cars with open flowing hosepipes

here, people save up to send a telegram, in sm untimed emergency.. n we nag about the pathetic cellular network when all we want is to talk to a person 2 floors below us..

here, girls are married to take off loans, and we complain about y our parents wont listen to our suggestions..

here, villagers are duped by landlords of their life's savings.. and we fret about some bit of tax we pay...

here, people die in clashes.. n we're buys speculating wat ash will wear on her wedding.. where n how the baraat will go

here, where we had JLN, now we have narendra modi...

the govt. will go to any length for its vote-bank... i question.. what authority does it have to reserve , even JOBS, for SC/STs... wasnty reserving seats and funds for their education well enough..????? let the qualified and well-read ones come up on their own now??

WHO, the bloody hell in this world has any right to question the existence of genuinity of a religion?? let everyone worship their own GOD. the babri sjid tragedy, the gujarat riots, the punjab riots, they're all sad and terribly depressing. WHAT authority does karunanidhi has , to call RAM a drunkard?? n WHAT authority does that hindu sadhu has .. t declare a bounty for karunanidhi's head?? talk of a secular, soverign INDIA!!!

we're a buncha blindfolded people who're driven by media and media alone. it therefore dawns upon them to act responsibly. but here too, camps and lines are clearly drawn. most of the channels are puppets of some party or the other.. n still, who'd want to hear about "bhootiya chappal" or "pyaaz maangti chudail" anyway?? depressing shit.. all of it.

we're all ga-ga about the nuclear deal. i might be snubbed , not to stick my nose in things i understand not, but the leftists arent so agaianst FDI in their own states. are they? arent they, then being hypocrites, putting off a deal which gives india some energy stabality...

what do I suggest?? like most ppl :
1) come down a little on the euphoria surrouding every tiny shred of good news we have.. rather, focus on more graver n serious matters.. pat your backs, n gear up for further struggle.

2) a public-grievance cell.. headed by a prominent public personality.. not a politiciaN.. n enroll the youth. it'll be for the people, by the people, n of the people... in its true sense.

3) get down working on Education and the PDS. food and education earn you everything else.

4) Free the judiciary of Government control. n edit the constitution.. they're governing laws, n not a holy book, which cant be edited. make laws more tight, loophole free, n time-relevant.

5)last but not the least, promote sting operations (alas!! not fake) and get down cracking on these bloody corrupt losers.. itna paisa upar leke jayenge??

THE LOST SHADOW

What good could it do to cry

for someone we thought had died
look around, with hope for what more
could a true friend do, but hide.

he's here, if we have eyes for him
he's here if we have love for him
he's in the morning breeze,
he's in the birds' flight
he's in the flowing rivers,
and as a star on a lonely night.

we see him playing, and laughing and joking
and doing everything he might
in our hearts, for our memories
of him, never blur, the slight.

In stifling silence, he talks to us
being happy where he is
for he's in heaven's bliss.
Roads of gold lead upto there
there people pearly white
he's at home, away from home..
being one of God's own,
and known far and wide.

he is the lost one, he is
but just living above us, on cloud nine
he's there for His work, also the Chosen one,
gone maybe for a greater cause, divine.
Amen.

Can Britney Spears Recover from Her VMA Performance?

Sunday night was supposed to be Britney Spears' big comeback. Her VMA showing marked her first real performance since, well, I can't even remember. And it was a dismal failure. For once, all the reviewers -- from the bloggers to the television personalities to the mainstream print publications -- agreed. Britney Spears sucked hardcore.

The first problem is that her performance was over-hyped. She'd been driving (and drinking) all over L.A. with illusionist Criss Angel, who was supposed to be creating a visually stunning comeback performance with her. For reasons that haven't been officially announced -- some sources are reporting that MTV couldn't get insurance for Britney's risky on-stage tricks, while others are saying MTV felt the performance would be too controversial -- Britney ended up doing a very standard stage show. The deck was stacked against her from the start; people expected smoke and mirrors, and what Britney had was a few back-up dancers. But what really hurt her fans, myself included, is that it felt like Britney didn't even try.

So: can Britney Spears recover from this? The question I'm asking myself after the VMAs is more along the lines of does Britney Spears want to recover from this? I wonder if she's just given up. I can't say I blame her. The unwavering media scrutiny, the failed marriages, the allegations of terrible mothering. If I were Britney, I'd look back at my past performances and think to myself, "So this is what all that hard work earned me? F--- this." I think Britney Spears got over us way before we got over her. She's been going through the motions, because this is the only work she knows how to do, but her heart hasn't been in it for some time now.

I'd like to say there's no recovering from this for Britney, but I think there is. I think that whenever she's ready to show up and put on an amazing show again, we'll be ready to watch it and cheer her on. We watched Britney grow up. We listened to her albums, cheered at her performances, read about her in magazines, saw her on TV, and, if you can believe it, some people even saw Crossroads. She was the face of a generation. We idolized her. And then we watched her fall apart. But if there's anything the public loves as much as a good trainwreck, it's a great comeback. When Britney's ready to do that, the audience will still be there.

For now, I think Britney would be wise to move away from Los Angeles, perhaps back home to Louisiana. Spend some time with your parents and your kids, Britney. Stay out of the bar. Get therapy. Get your head on straight. Figure out what you want to do with your life, and then do it with the drive and ferocity we used to see in you. If it's singing and dancing, that's great, we'll be here to watch you. If it's something else entirely, that's great, too. But I think it's clear, darling, to everyone but you, that whatever you're doing right now isn't working.

An ode was the least i could do.

Its finally over. The last potter book's been read and it won't ever happen again. Never will i be able to read fresh new things about Harry's world.. never will i be able to go through shock, awe, amusement and pain all at the same time reading this craftily put together story.. never will i be able to laugh at Fred and George's jokes that seemed to go on n on n on. I'll miss Dobby, for he really was a sweetheart. An elf who got free n died helping the one human he truly called his friend. He'll always be remembered. I'll miss Fred, who died as he would have wanted to. If he'd been ill, he'd still have cracked jokes n killed others. :P . I'll miss Tonks, for she was one great witch. I'll miss Lupin, for he was like a father to Harry. He died like a hero. Tonks and Lupin both did. And i'm not worried about their son, Ted. Harry being his godfather, would have taken good care of him. I'll miss Snape, for he proved my theory right.. he was good after all. He did everything for Harry and for his love for Lily.
i'll never be able to sit at home in holidays..excited about a new potter book.never will i see harry board the express...no ford anglia..no feats at hogwarts..no ghosts..no Peeves...no snape-harry clashes. no quidditch ever..no hermione-ron fights.. no hermione's brains..no luna's strangeness...no hagrid's tea-parties. never will i shudder to read something about Voldemort now. Never will i feel loved by Mrs. Weasley nw. Never will i be amused by Mr. Weasley's penchant for muggle products.. n never wil i be able to chuckle at Dumbledore's subtle jokes, his genius, his wisdom, his weirdness....n most of all, i'll miss Hogwarts, for it gave me a home away from home. to where i could always come to..when i felt down and out, wen i felt lonely..cz there was always a place for me here.. i was one among all those. i'll miss it, truly, JKR. Thanks for giving hope to me for so many years.

bless you.

so, finally i am here.

everything's else is, well, conquered, to be mild in my tone.. hahaha... neah, this is not just another crappy place i created without my knowledge, by signing up for something.. this has been in the pipeline for a long time.. waiting to be unveiled. so, here i am.

i am not an avid blogger, no, thats not me.. but i'll put in some greater efforts to become one.
